The Recycled Leather chair is the result of experimenting with recycled leather sheets, exploring and challenging their boundaries. By cutting into the semi rigid sheets with various patterns more flexibility is achieved without losing the material’s attributes of being robust, natural and warm.
The process of leather recycling involves leftover leather scraps which are collected from furniture and shoe factories and grinded to shreds. Then they are mixed with water and natural rubber and acacia wood bark. The leather pulp is compressed into sheets and mechanically processed for size, color, and texture.
